Happy New Years!

•December 31, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I am actually trying to motivate myself to frequently
update this blog. I’m trying to make this blog simple and
interesting but sometimes we do get lazy so my aim for 2011 is to
do more updates (even when no one actually visits it ;p ) I don’t
mind really because this is more for me anyway. I will leave the
wonderful 2010 with this picture. Happy New Years everyone!

This was shot near
Buckingham Palace while I was on a holiday in London. Shot using

Since I’ll be heading to London next month, I’ll looking forward for the International Magic Convention which will be held there. I’ve been into magic and performing (many did not know that) for a good close to 10 years now but unfortunately been inactive for about a year due to work related reasons and other commitments. More infos on the convention here

SuperHeadz Black Slim Devil

I’ve been playing around with this camera for a while now. I like the fact that it is small and pure mechanical. It has a fixed aperture of f/11 and fixed shutter speed of 1/125. Its small enough to slip into anyone’s pockets and it takes wiiiiiidddeeeeee pictures. Here are some samples of it. All shots taken with Ilford XP2 400 for B&W and Kodak Ektar 100 for colour.

Hipstamatic and Pano app

•October 17, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I got my iPhone 4 about few weeks back and wow am I enjoying myself! Coming from the iPod Touch, the iPhone with camera is just superb! Just thought I want to point out this 2 apps which IMHO is one of the must-have photo apps for the iPhone.

1. Hipstamatic App

This app can imitate the old skool film toy camera look. With assorted films and lenses available for purchase in the app itself, u can achieve some pretty cool look. Check out some of them below

2. Pano
It is basically allows users to use the iPhone camera to make panoramic pictures. This app will merge up to 16 pictures and make a panoramic picture. I just got this app few days back and still playing around with it but it is fun! Makes u wanna Pano everything. Below are some pictures

New lens! Voightlander 40mm f1.4 MC

•August 22, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Just got myself this lens from eBay about a week ago. Been shooting few rolls with it just to see how it fairs. Kinda difficult to use for me at least because of the absent in frame lines for 40mm on my Leica M6 but the f1.4 with 400 film really allows me to shoot at reasonably good shutter speed under difficult lighting situations. My rolls are currently being processed so pictures will come later :)

Singapore July 2010

Our first daughter’s first ever trip out of the country. Stayed at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. Not too shabby ;) . It was a good trip overall. Managed to revisit the places that I’ve been to when I was younger, we also checkout the new Universal Studios Singapore which unfortunately was not fully functional but still fun nonetheless. This trip gave me the chance to try out my new fascination with film. Pictures below shot with 5dmk2 + 35L and Leica M6TTL + 50 Summarit-M

Finally got myself a film Leica M6 TTL!

•June 20, 2010 • 2 Comments

Earlier this month I was able to try a friend’s Leica M6 with 50 Summicron. After shooting just 3 rolls of film, I was sold. I just have to get myself one! After reading all reviews and also considering my financial status, I finally bought myself a secondhand Leica M6 TTL 0.85 from eBay. The item was sent from Hong Kong therefore it reached me fast! When it was on the way, I realized that I was so bogged down with the camera that I totally forgot that I don’t have any lens for it! After looking around, I got myself the Leica 50mm 2.5 Summarit- M. It is the cheapest firsthand Leica lens but that is all I could afford at the moment. I might consider getting a secondhand Leica lens later but for now I am content with what I have. Will post some pictures when I get the time :)
